Industrial Design Works
As a final-year Industrial Design student at Nottingham Trent University, I have developed a diverse skill set across product design, user experience, and design research. Throughout my studies and internship, I’ve had the opportunity to work on various projects, collaborating with professionals across different teams to bring ideas to life. I was involved in the entire design process, from brainstorming and concept development to prototyping and refining designs, while strengthening my SolidWorks, KeyShot, rapid prototyping and manufacturing skills. Working closely with engineers and designers taught me the importance of iteration, managing timelines, and incorporating feedback effectively. My projects focus on creating solutions that are aesthetically considered but also functional and user-friendly, allowing me to develop a well-rounded approach to industrial design.

“Zaki has been an excellent addition to the team here at Native. It was not long before we realized that his role at Native far exceeded what was expected of an ‘intern’ designer. The work he has produced has been presented to important global stakeholders of blue-chip clients. His work belies his perceived lack of experience.
He does have some way to go in ultimate design quality and judgment, and this will come with time. He should begin to seek inspiration from the world around him, not just what is on screen, which I fear is an endemic issue within the design industry currently.
He has approached every task with diligence and passion, which is rare and difficult when the clients are as demanding as ours. He has also been a beacon of positivity during his time here – and we would love to have him back.
Well done on a fantastic year here, Zaki.”
